This is Hob Nob Epic Journey lovingly known as Journey.
Journey is owned and trained by Mike De Lannoy of CA
Mike De Lannoy writes: If you choose to use a border collie for search & rescue, Hob Nob is great for many reasons. I researched many breeders all over the US . Jan's BC's are working dogs, and second biggest is the structure. I feel if you are going to invest in that much time and money be sure you have good structure. Jan is one of the best. Journey is an air scent or live find at this time...she is on two teams California State Team (CARDA) and a county team with the sheriff department at the Riverside County Search Dogs

Hob Nob Scully is Mike's 2nd Search and Rescue partner
While it is fun to highlight the many wins that Hob Nob dogs compete and excel at in agility, herding, obedience, flyball, rally, etc. I am just as thrilled for all the Hob Nob owners and their teammates in AND out of the dog sports arena! These are the often somewhat silent partners, so to speak, that deserve equal recognition!

Dennis Murphy, a well-loved agility competitor from Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on October 19, 2010 as a result of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which is often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease." His agility partner pictured above is Hob Nob Bodhi. As he went from running full out with Bodhi as a young dog, to using a cane to aid his movement, then a walker, a Segway, and finally a motorized wheelchair, Dennis guided Bodhi through the courses. Dennis' last agility run with Bodhi was on October 2, 2010 at the Cool Critters trial in Palmetto, Florida. It was always inspiring to watch Dennis and Bodhi compete, and it was especially so on that day, as we all knew the number of runs Dennis and Bodhi had together were limited. Dennis and Bodhi were an inspiration to the agility community he loved

Jan,
I wanted to tell you again what fantastic dogs you make, all of whom bring so much happiness to so many. You likely receive communication from people who work the most with agility and sheep trials, but I know that other families like mine cherish their dog just as much in a different way.
Trio has turned into the most amazing herding dog....for little boys. I've never seen a creature so attached to 6 year old boys as she is, after being raised with my son Logan. Trio is the sibling that Logan does not have.
Many people warn about mixing children with border collies due to the herding/nipping tendencies. With the right training of both child and dog, the results are fantastic!
Thank you! Dr. Allison Kendrick

Shazam in the City
We live in a condominium building in downtown Chicago, not a typical home for a border collie.
Life as an urban dog is very different and city dogs get exposed to so many different things everyday of their lives. I knew it would be important for him to have reliable basic behaviors (like sitting calmly in an elevator, walking nicely on a leash through crowded city sidewalks, holding a sit stay waiting to cross a busy street, being well-behaved at sidewalk cafes and in stores, etc) regardless of the distractions going on around him. And in a city there are tons of distractions.
"Shazam had some amazing visits last night at the hospital. We did a special request visit to a lady who got some very bad news yesterday. Her family was so appreciative that they made a donation. He makes so many people feel better in his own special way" This was Shazam in one of the nursing homes
From Michelle and Gregg: Thank you Jan for trusting us with "red boy" and sending him to live in the city!
Shazam had a very special gift of being a therapy dog. And not just any therapy dog as he had a sense to knowing just how gentle and loving he needed to be to bring some comfort to those patients who were very much in need of his presence
Shazam during one of his nursing home visits bringing some love to the staff
Shazam completing his APDT level 1 Championship Title with 1st place with a perfect score!

Roar showed in four obedience trials this weekend. My special boy won four High in Trials and three High Combined’s. I was so, so proud of him! He picked up quite a few OTCh points also. On top of that Tressa is in season! Hob Nob Border Collies are Simply The Best! 10/7/19

Hob Nob Tressa winning HIGH IN TRIAL and HIGH COMBINED! At this trial Tressa's point total towards her Obedience Trial Champion was 69 of the 100 points needed. Sadly, Peggy passed away before Tressa could earn her OTCH
