Scheme was such a wonderful ambassador for the breed. He knew no stranger when it came to people and dogs. He was very talented in agility and herding. Scheme earned his herding and breed championships making him a dual champion
Three of his sons earned their spot to compete at the FCI Agility World Championships. Hob Nob Surf competed in Spain in 2005, Hob Nob Focus competed in Finland in 2008 and Hob Nob Icon competed in Germany in 2010
Scheme also produced several AKC National Agility Champions
Here is what his co-owner Gail Smith had to say about Scheme: Scheme was my first Border Collie and my soul mate. The ultimate in looks and personality. We learned agility together and he taught me a lot about herding. He slept by my side every night and partnered with me through many life adventures. I miss him everyday and look back with such lovely memories of our life journey. Thank you Jan DeMello for letting him come into my life. His name suited him well for he was my Hob Nob Perfect Plan

Hob Nob High Class aka Posh came into this world on March 15, 2005 like a lamb and left on October 9, 2019 like a lioness. Her mom was dual champion Hob Nob Harley and her dad was dual champion Hob Nob Scheme. Posh never earned any official titles but she was a champion of my heart! She celebrated her earthly life to the absolute fullest for almost 15 years until cancer made its appearance in the form of a tumor deep within the uppermost part of her front leg. The tumor was unreachable that even amputating her leg would not get to it. Her mind and spirit were that of a youngster with so much energy and a zest for life still strong within her being but the tumor was not willing to succumb to any pain medication. It was so damn hard to let her go because her mind and spirit were still that of a vibrant youngster. One day she is leaping up barking moving backward in front of me (her signature move) and the next day she is holding up her front leg in pain even as she would lay on my bed
This is a video of Posh celebrating her 14th birthday which was to be her last one we shared together
This is a video of Posh enjoying some light sheepwork as she was very pregnant carrying 9 puppies!
This is a video of Posh showing heir skills with some agillity and herding. She loved walking backwards in front of me leaping and twisting. Gosh, I so loved this beautiful and talented girl!
This is a video of Juice competing in Open B at the IX Center in Ohio. Note the ferris wheel in the background. Juice won this class with a score of 199.5 under judge Donna Larson. This is a fun video of Juice weaving and fetching at the grand opening of my traininig center when I moved to California. Juice absolutely LOVED to fetch. He would hit the dumbell so hard when he retrieved it so I taught to 'leave it' just when he was inches from picking it up at high speed. It always wowed the crowd at my seminars!
Click to see video of a traininig session with Juice to perfect his straight fronts with a dumbbell in his mouth. Juice was always such a blast to train!
